Framing Your Day...

As I sat at the kitchen table a few moments ago eating breakfast with my wife, I commented to her about the pretty color of the geranium sitting on the patio table outside our window.  The flowers are a soft salmon pink with a hint of white on the outer edges of the bloom.  The immediate view outside our dining area is framed by geraniums.  To the left is a vivid purple, to the right an almost fluorescent cluster of red blooms, with the salmon pink on the table in the middle and a white geranium offset to its left sitting on our deck.  That view just makes me want to shout out: “This day belongs to the Lord!  Let’s celebrate and be glad today.” (CEV)

I can’t say that I originally arranged for the plants to be situated especially in such a manner as to frame our view from the inside of the house.  It just kind of happened as I hung a couple of the plants from our patio cover that is extended from the sliding window.  Now as we sit at the table for our various meals it seems to have been a God ordained thing as it lends a pleasurable experience to our eyes as well as instilling in us a sense of peace, relaxation and a positive expectancy of God’s creation.
I believe that this is the same thing that our heavenly Father wants to instill in us every time we spend time with Him in His Word.  Not only does it yield a pleasurable experience to us but it also fills us with His peace and charges us with a positive expectancy of His goodness, faithfulness, power and love.  God wants to frame our daily lives with the view of His Word.  Within that framework, nothing that we come upon during the day can stand a chance of throwing us off the course that He has set for our lives!
Within His framework we have His protection from the storms of life.  We have the basis of His knowledge and His love to overcome any word or action that comes against us.  Within His framework we also have the compassion to draw in others in need and tend to their hurts and confusion.  Within the framework of His Word, life just looks better!
So no matter what the weather is in your location in this world, no matter how tough or complicated your life is at this moment, take the time to frame each day with a view of His Word and life will suddenly begin to bloom for you!  Have a great weekend!  Stay in tune to his Word, and keep asking yourself… “What am I expecting today?”
