Looking Out The Window!

I started out my study time this morning by revisiting the 91st Psalm.  After I had meditated on it for awhile and had jotted down various notes, I became aware of the fact that all the protection promised to us in this Psalm is contingent upon our consistent “doing” of the first verse!  Our being close enough to Him so as to be within His shadow, is what guarantees us a quick response from Him concerning our safety and defense.  The farther away we allow ourselves to be removed from His presence, the longer it may take for Him to respond to our needs.  Humm… interesting point.

As I contemplated these thoughts, the Lord spoke to me and said “Don’t second guess the past, Jim.  You can’t go back, but you can go forward.”  Then I immediately remembered Hebrews 11:1 where it says that Now faith is…”  (King James Version)  Faith is always present tense.  You can’t have faith for the past, and if you’re trying to have faith for the future you are actually in the mode of hope or expectation.  Faith is in the NOW and represents the object of what you are believing for until you receive it!

The key is to forget the past and put yourself into the present, within the shadow of our Heavenly Almighty Father.  This way, under His watchful protection and care, you can depend on having a spectacular future.  Someone once told me that is why God calls today “the present.”  Today is a gift from the Lord.  You can choose to live it anyway you want.  Don’t let memories of the past whether they by actual or not, good or bad, taint the blank slate of the fresh, new day that the Lord is giving you today!

So, when you get up tomorrow, walk to the nearest window, twist open the blinds, cast your cares aside, look out and joyfully exclaim: “This day belongs to the Lord!  Let’s celebrate and be glad today!”  (Psalm 118:24 Contemporary English Version)  Remember God’s promise to you at the end of Psalm 91 where He says that “I will satisfy you with a long life (and) I will show (or demonstrate to) you how I will save (prosper, heal and fill you with joy in this life) you.”  (Gods Word ©)

Keep the faith!  (or better yet: keep being in faith!)  Stay tuned and keep asking yourself… “What NEW and EXCITING things am I expecting to happen This Weekend?”
