Enjoy Life!

So what does it mean to you to be “adventurously expectant?” (Romans 8:15 The Message Bible)  According to the American Heritage College Dictionary, adventurous means “to be inclined to undertake new and daring enterprises.”  Does that describe you?  Is that how you wake up in the morning?  Most people would equate that type of thinking with an individual’s personality.  The Bible though, equates it with the new, resurrection life given to every believer, no matter what their personality type is.

Thinking and acting with this excitement comes from a condition of “being” who we have become in Christ.  When we are born again, we become one with Him.  Like we said last week, we are “complete in Him.” (Colossians 2:10 Gods Word ©)

Immediately after telling us about the “adventurously expectant” life we now are a part of, Romans 8:16 goes on to say that the Holy Spirit Himself “touches our spirits and confirms who we really are.  We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children” (The Message Bible) Just like natural children who are born into a royal family, we now have a royal bloodline with full access to the resources of the kingdom of God.  Looking forward to the experiences in our daily lives from this reality can’t help one but to get excited about the adventures that their Heavenly Father and they will get to participate in each day!

Allow me paraphrase what Scott Schang asks in his book that I mentioned last week, entitled “The Rhema Code.”  Are you living from an Old Covenant mindset or from that of a Kingdom Believer?  “Old Covenant Thinkers strive to become who they are in Christ while “Kingdom Believers ‘Be;’ they live fromthe condition of being a citizen of the Kingdom of God with all its inherent rights and privileges. (The Rhema Code, by Scott Schang ©2010 Dog Ear Publishing, Indianapolis, IN - pg 131 – Book available through Amazon.com)

So I encourage you to try living your life this week from the Kingdom of God perspective.  I imagine that it will put a gleam of expectancy in your eyes and begin to cause you to live a little more adventurously with the decisions and corresponding actions that you take.  Have some fun!  Enjoy your life!  Let the joy of the Lord flow in and through you!

Stay tuned and keep asking yourself… “What adventurous activities am I expecting to participate in today?”
