Who Are You Going To Believe?

I ended the post on 7/11/11 with the scripture from Hebrews 6:18 where the writer proclaims that “God cannot lie.”  (Gods Word ©) This is the second point that I wanted to delve a little deeper into from the Monday post. This fact has to be the unshakable foundation for every Believer.  Without this basic understanding, we could never be in faith for any of the promises listed within the pages of God’s word!  This truth is found throughout both the Old and New Testaments.  (see: Psalms 119:160, John 17:17, Hebrews 13:8, and James 1:17 to name a few)

So the next logical question would be:  “If God can’t lie, where do all the thoughts, symptoms and accusations that are contrary to His word come from?”  The answer is simple – directly from the father of lies, otherwise known as the devil!  Jesus made this point very clear when He was arguing with the religious leaders in Jerusalem.  He said that the devil was “a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44 Gods Word ©)

Therefore, whose report are you going to believe?  The infallible word of the living God, or the deceitful accusations of the one who couldn’t tell the truth even if he wanted to!  My life accordingly, is based on the abundant life that Jesus afforded for us (John 10:10), as found in His word.  How about you?  Our Heavenly Father is Truth, is Love, and is all about giving of His best to us!  (remember John 3:16?)
