Are you expecting God’s best for you today? Do you see the mountains of impossibility crumbling before your unwavering confessions of faith that are based on the solid foundations of God’s word? Hebrews 10:23 in the New American Standard version of the Bible encourages us to “hold fast the confession of our hope (or expectation) without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
If you really believe that He who promised us that we would never have a need (Psalm 23:1), then your answer to the above questions would be an unequivocal “YES!” And with that yes, your life should exemplify relentless joy, peace and benevolence to others.
Does this all sound like a fairy tale to you? Well, if I read and understand my Bible correctly, then this is the style of life that we Christians should be living. God did not design us to live in strife, anxiety, and poverty. He made us with His care in mind, and while our bodies are quite resilient, they will eventually breakdown under the pressures caused by the stress we take upon ourselves.
I’m choosing to place my life today, in His loving, all seeing and all powerful hands. How about you? No situation is too big or too small for Him to resolve. So take that thought with you today and everyday, and see if you don’t just find yourself walking with a little more bounce in your step as your journey through life. Begin each morning confessing that “I have GREAT EXPECTATIONS of God’s goodness happening in my life today!” Stay tuned and keep asking yourself… “What (GOOD THINGS) am I expecting today?”
