Rest Stop

“A person’s steps are directed by the Lord,

Do you realize that as a Christian your steps are ordered by the Lord?  He has got a plan for your life that when followed will far exceed your “wildest dreams” (Philippians 4:19 – The Message Bible).  It is an intricate and unique plan, designed just for you, that He finds Himself delighting in for your benefit!  (See:  Ephesians 1:22)

How exciting!  The sad part is that I believe most Christians fall far short of the fullness of life that God has for them.  They get too distracted or intimidated by the “do’s and don’ts” of life and miss the changes in directions that His GPS system (ie; the Bible in conjunction and agreement with the leadings of the Holy Spirit) is calling out to them.

You know, sometimes one just needs to pull over and stop the car and look at the map before continuing on down the road of life.  That is where I find myself right now.  And to be perfectly honest… this highway Rest Stop is kind of a nice place to be!   I am finding it to be a good time to stretch my legs, enjoy the scenery, bask in the serenity of God that is present all around me and refresh my being!

How are you doing today?  Do you find yourself driving so fast along the highway of life that everything around you seems to be a blur?  Could it be time for you to pull into the next Rest Stop along the way before continuing on?  Think about it!  (Just make sure that you find the right rest stop… we once stopped at one in Texas that looked like it was built and last cleaned in the 1800’s… seriously!!!)
